This grouping of approximately 100 objects features didactic displays, many of which were originally created for exhibition at the Museum when it's mandate was to support the technical education of young Australians.
This grouping of approximately 100 objects features didactic displays, many of which were originally created for exhibition at the Museum when it's mandate was to support the technical education of young Australians. These didactic displays typically detail manufacturing processes or display classified examples of botanical, mineral and manufactured materials and products. Examples from the late 1800's include stages in the manufacturing of steel pins, Spun yarns in various colours and the manufacture of pocket knifes. Other examples include components of bicycle wheels, candle manufacture, manufacture of rabbit felt fur felt hats and Stages in making Doulton ceramic figure, "Fragrance". More contemporary examples include Cochlear implants, sectioned automobile, 7M-GTE Toyota Supra, 1986 and stages in the manufacture of vinyl records
