Full DescriptionNamed after Thomas Macleod, pioneer of heavier-than-air flight in Queensland, the Thomas Macleod Queensland Aviation Collection is a collected archive of documents, photos and objects relating to the early aviation history of Queensland. A wide range of aviation endeavour is represented in the collection which contains a diversity of material. Archival material represents a range of Queensland aviators including Bert Hinkler, Lieutenants William Fraser and Val Rendle, Charles Lindsay Campbell and Group Captain Cedric Hill. Another feature of the collection is the Kingsford Smith Series containing a large number of items from the airman's personal collection.
