The ARHS Vic. Railway Museum has the largest collection of Victorian Railways steam locomotives on display. Its collection includes more than 17 different locomotives, from the F class up to the H class.
The ARHS Vic. Railway Museum has the largest collection of Victorian Railways steam locomotives on display. Its collection includes more than 17 different locomotives, from the F class up to the H class.The more significant trains include H220 the only locomotive constructed in this class and the largest locomotive built to operate on the Victorian Railways. It was built by Victorian Railways Newport Workshops in 1941. F176 and T94 are both the only extant examples of their class. F176 was built by Beyer Peacock & Co.'s, Phoenix Foundry in 1896 and was sold to H. V. M.c Kay, Sunshine Harvester Works on 28 May 1920. T94 was also built by Beyer Peacock & Co. around 1885 and was taken of the register 13 June 1952.
This collection contains significant trains used in Australia's primary industry sector over the course of the early twentieth century.
