Descriptions
The University of South Australia Art Collection is developed and managed through the Samstag Museum of Art. Established for research and display purposes, collecting began in the early 20th century and includes art works by predominantly South Australian artists from 1970s onwards. The collection includes the Max Hart Collection of Aboriginal bark paintings, the Chamberlain and Lyons Collections of South Australian ceramics, and the Samstag Collection featuring works by Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship alumni. The collection also includes 'Different Forms of Intelligence' by South Australian artist, Fiona Hall, 'Songs of Australia Volume 3, At Home' by Aleks Danko, Simon Terrill's photographs, works by Hayden Fowler, Callum Morton, Kristian Burford and Anne Wallace
This collection contains a range of significant Australian Artworks.
