Indigenous Australian voices

Digital Storytelling Collection- Indigenous Australian voices

A collection of user generated stories from the Indigenous Community, told through the use of multimedia tools. Provides a glimpse of the Indigenous experience in present-day Australia. Contributors have combined material from their own personal archives of audio visual material (photographs, video footage, text, music and sound) to produce a 3-4 minute personal story which they have then narrated. Around 50 short films have been created since 1993 as part of the Digital Storytelling program at ACMI.

Each of the storytellers in this section, whether professional or amateur, adopts a unique approach to the art of storytelling and the visual artistry of moving image making. Explore the diverse issues, themes and ideas that are expressed by Indigenous Australian voices.
